‘Night of the Full Moon’ cast selected as ambassadors of Iran’s National Art Archives.

The director of Iranian feature ‘Night of the Full Moon’ along with a number of the film’s cast members were selected as goodwill ambassadors of Iran’s National Archives for the Arts.

Director Narges Abyar and actors Houtan Shakiba, Elnaz Shakerdoust, and Fereshteh Sadr were each granted credentials for the art archives of Iran’s National Library at a ceremony in Tehran yesterday.

Held at Iran’s National Library, the ceremony featured a screening of the award-winning flick in the presence of director Narges Abyar, producer Mohammad-Hossein Qasemi, a number of the film’s actors, and certain cultural, literary, and artistic figures from Iran’s National Library.

After the screening, the director of Iran’s National Library and Archives presented Narges Abyar, Houtan Shakiba, Elnaz Shakerdoust, and Fereshteh Sadr with the Art Archive’s credentials.

The National Art Archives is a project that has been implemented by the National Library and Archives of Iran in order to record the national memory of Iran in the fields of theater, music, poetry, and cinema.

Narges Abyar is the first director to be named Iran’s Art Ambassador as part of the project.

‘Night of the Full Moon’ recounts a true love story of Abdul-Hamid Rigi, a member of the Jundallah terrorist group.

Abyar’s award-winning flick received six awards at the 37th Fajr Film Festival, including Best Director, Best Film, Best Leading Actor (Houtan Shakiba), Best Leading Actress (Elnaz Shakerdoust), Best Supporting Actress (Fereshteh Sadr-Orafaee), and Best Makeup (Iman Omidvari).
